Murugavel Janakiraman is the Founder and CEO of BharatMatrimony and Matrimony.com, and widely considered to be the most influential person in India when it comes to helping people find the joy and love of matrimony.

Murugavel is a sincere, loving human being who has earned the heartfelt thanks of many happily married couples. The quality of his character has lent to success in many social and humanitarian areas. He has championed the cause of eye donations through the Bharat Eye Bank. His Bharat Blood Bank is an online non-profit initiative to promote blood donations across cities in India. Murugavel started his career with a software company in Chennai. He worked as a consultant for leading companies in Singapore and the US, and then, in 2000, set up a Indian dating site that today has become the world’s largest matrimony service. In fact, it was through that site, BharatMatrimony, that Mr. Janakiraman met the future Mrs. Janakiraman.

Now the company has more than 15 matrimonial websites under Bharat Matrimony brand, plus more than 300 websites under the Community Matrimony brand. Matrimony.com is the market leader with a sixty percent share in online matchmaking, with nearly forty-million new profiles added in Fiscal Year 2018.

MatrimonyPhotography.com provides professional photography and videography services. MatrimonyMandaps.com is a wedding venue discovery platform - it helps customers find the right venues for their weddings. MatrimonyBazaar.com avails wedding related services: wedding apparel, stage decorations, photography, make-up, catering and honeymoon packages. Customers subscribe to the service, and the company then provides a relationship manager to suggest services based on need and budget.

Murugavel Janakiraman was once a one-man show. Now his successful ventures help employ more than four-thousand workers.
